Staying Safe, Staying Strong, Standing Firm, Standing Long Through the Pandemic

Centuries ago, Jesus and His followers turned the world upside with the preaching of the Gospel. And since then, the world has never been the same.  Fast forward to modern day, in 2020, we experienced the COVID-19 pandemic that changed our day-to-day life on every level including our worship.  In the Bible, we are encouraged in 1 Peter 2:13-17 to submit ourselves to every ordinance of man for The LORD’s sake.  In response to public health orders, many churches had to quickly scramble and convert to virtual worship services.  So when we can, as long as there is no conflict with God’s Word, we are encouraged to work with the authorities (Matt 22:17-22; Acts 5:29-32; Rom. 13:1-7; 1 Tim 2:1-4).   Again, we do what we do to represent The LORD; for we’re in this world, but not of this world, Amen.

At By The Book, obeying and representing our LORD is always our 1st priority, period.  Part of that priority is taking care of our flock and ensuring the safety of everyone.  Because of this, we have chosen to continue to stay safe, and stand firm and continue remote worship (and on-site when feasible in compliance with orders).  We have no doubts or reservations of God’s healing power, but we will not tempt the Lord our God with foolish and unwise behavior.  It’s not political, it’s just practical.

If you would like to join us remotely Sunday mornings, please text (562) 546-3517 and request the link to our worship service.
